Cycling in 2020 with Nicole Frain

by | 28 Oct 2020 | cycling

Sydney Uni – Staminade cyclist, Nicole Frain caught up with us to talk cycling in 2020. With Nicole in Tasmania, she’s been fortunate to not have as strong restrictions due to COVID as some other states, yet it’s still made a difference to how cycling has looked for her in 2020.

Staminade: What has been your cycling highlight of 2020?

Nicole: I would have to say back in January, racing Tour Down Under and Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road race with the Australian Team. It was a big goal of mine so to achieve it was special.

Staminade: Have you introduced difference training into your schedule?

Nicole: Not too much. I got into a good habit of yoga there for a bit, unfortunately UNI ramped up a bit I didn’t keep the habit for as long as I would have liked! I have given cyclocross and my first MTB race a go this year though.

Staminade: How has 2020 changed your cycling life?

Nicole: I have been lucky in Tas in that we have still been able to get out and ride mostly normal and recently racing normally as well. If anything, it has affected the amount of interstate racing I can do, and of course overseas, when I would have hoped to have returned to Europe, but overall training/racing at home has mostly been unaffected.
